What Can Go Wrong (And How to Handle It)

Cruise ships flood the Old Town

Check cruise ship schedules online. Avoid days with multiple ships. Early morning and evening are always quieter.

It's too hot on the walls

Go in the last 2 hours before closing when temperatures drop. Or choose a water-based proposal on a private boat.

Lokrum ferry stops running

Check the last ferry time (usually 7pm). Or book a private boat that can take you to and from the island.

Fort Lovrijenac is crowded

Visit in the last hour before closing. Or propose at the viewpoint just outside the fort – similar views, no ticket needed.

Photographer is too obvious

'That person has a professional camera - let's ask them to take our photo!' Classic misdirection that works every time.
